The
Mission
“Love Your Neighbor” is a perfect example
of an apostolic call to pioneer new
works based on relationship rather than
governmental structure. If every woman
in Aglow who lives in a city, town or
county, would lay hold of the place
where she works and where she lives,
the spiritual climate would begin to
change and hundreds would come to know
the Lord.
Through the “Love Your Neighbor” ministry,
Aglow women become aware of those around
them, not only in their immediate neighborhood,
but in daily life encounters with others
in their larger community. In this ministry
we begin to realize that our neighbors
are our harvest field, and that we can
make a difference by loving and praying
for those around us.
“Love Your Neighbor” reminds us we
need to remember our First Love and
how wonderful it is to be forgiven and
adopted into the beloved. We realize
that we have become insulated and isolated
to the degree that there are no pre-Christians
in our friendship circle, and recognize
that we prefer our comfort zones as
branch sitters rather than the uncomfortable
adventure of being a limb climber who
presents the genuine personal Christ
to others.
Mary
Lance V. Sisk is the author of an amazing
book, "Love Your Neighbor as
Yourself" (available through
Aglow International's resource center).
This great book is about "Blessing
Your Neighborhood through Love &
Prayer".
As Mary Lance suggests, get to KNOW
your neighbors. Pray for each other,
organize prayer walks, develop a neighborhood
directory, host a tea or create a Christmas
nativity scene!
